5 Things For My August To Do List

5 Things For My August To Do List

Okay, can we just take a minute to reflect on how quickly this year has gone by please? I just can’t believe we’re in August already! Don’t get me wrong, I’m an avid fan of Halloween, Bonfire Night and not to mention the big ‘C’ word. But I feel like I’ve started to write off the next few weeks already, in anticipation for all things Autumnal, rather than embracing the last bit of Summer. So, I’ve given myself a good talking to and I’m determined to make the most of August! Today I’m sharing 5 things for my August to do list.

The Month of Le Monk | I have to say, August is one of my favourite months. Not just because it’s prime summer time (if the sun decides to play ball), but it’s also the month of Le Monk. Next week is Joe’s birthday (insert *holy-hell-how-did-we-get so-old* here) and also our four year anniversary at the end of the month too. FOUR YEARS. Excuse me whilst I just pick my brain up off the floor. I recently realised that we haven’t had a date day/night together since my birthday in March (!), so I’m beyond excited to spend some quality time celebrating with my partner in crime.

Hello Motivation As you may know, I took a little break from my blog/ social media recently (which you can read all about here) and I have to say, it definitely did me the world of good. I’ve been chatting to a few of the amazing bloggers that I’ve been lucky enough to get to know and I feel so incredibly inspired and oh so motivated right now! I feel ready to push myself well and truly out of my comfort zone and to give my little space on the internet my all. I’m full to the brim with ideas and I just can’t wait to get started and see everything come together.

Operation Bedroom Faff | IT’S HERE! The time has finally come – it’s time to commence, ‘operation bedroom faff’. Yes, after months of false promises, I’ve actually painted the bedroom ceiling and things are really starting to come together. We still have a little way to go, but I’m determined to have the last odds and sods finished by the end of August (she says!). I can’t explain how excited I am to add all of the pretty finishing touches and to be able to faff to my hearts content. You just can’t beat it, can you?

Dust Collector Detox | Anyone who knows me, is fully aware that I love a pretty ornament, or a dust collector as Joe likes to call them. However, I think I’ve taken it one step too far. Not in that I’ve got too many pretty ornaments (I mean is that even possible?). Oh no, I simply have too much stuff. Stuff that I don’t use, stuff that is no longer my taste, stuff that’s just slowly becoming honorary dust collectors. I confess that my cupboards are full to the brim of stuff. Sadly, the cupboards are overflowing and the sea of stuff is beginning to take over the little room too (which Joe has proudly nicknamed my ‘Monica cupboard’). It’s all too much. An almighty spring clean and dust collector detox is desperately needed. Marie Kondo, watch out!

#freeupmyinsta | I’ve decided to take part in the #freeupmyinsta challenge this week. I think it’s such a great thing to do to rid ourselves of the pressure of Instagram & stop us desperately feeling the need to pursue perfection. Plus it’s so lovely to see people interpreting the prompts in different ways & embracing what is important to them. If you fancy joining in too, you can find the list of prompts on Allison Sadler’s Instagram (you can also follow my #freeupmyinsta adventures over on my feed too!) Here’s to creative freedom and to no rules, no pressure, no overthinking.
